Finding a coating solution that could withstand the harsh environmental factors present in culverts while still performing effectively in fire situations to protect combustible surfaces was a demanding requirement for any system.
Already proven in other industries as the go-to for long-term, exterior-grade, ductile high-insulation ignition barrier intumescent coating, Temprotex was subjected to extensive real-world scenario laboratory and field tests by Interflow and Exfire. These tests were conducted to ensure the system would meet the unique performance requirements for these applications.
An easy-to-apply, robust fire protection coating system can now be applied to GRP, PVC, HDPE, and other composite culvert structures and strengthening systems. This system provides a high-insulation ignition and flame spread barrier, allowing Interflow to offer a risk reduction solution to complement its already impressive range of culvert and pipe solutions.
IMPORTANT: Confirm with your certifying body prior to application that the F1ER system is suitable to meet the fire rating requirements on your project.
Temprotex® F1ER is a high-performance, water-based coating that dries quickly and can be sprayed on various surfaces, including car and truck bodies, plastic and composite panels, engine components, flexible lines and hoses, HDEP, GRP, fiberglass, carbon fiber, and nearly any other composite material. This coating is designed to be heat insulating, vibration resistant, ductile, waterproof, and nonflammable. It effectively creates an ignition barrier on thermosets and other flammable materials while also lowering core temperatures.
